Happy Thanksgiving

***Don't forget about my holiday blog candy giveaway that can be found  here!   You have until the end of the day to enter*** Hey friends, I hope all of my State friends are enjoying this beautiful Thanksgiving Day. I have my coffee made and am waiting on the hubby to wake up. On this particular morning we usually have a nice home cooked breakfast together and watch a little of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade before we prepare for the big ol' feast with the family. I like to call it the quiet before the storm, but not in a bad way, if you know what I mean. LOL! By the way, thanks for all of the well wishes on the pumpkin pies. They turned out great! I couldn't let this day go by without making a Thanksgiving Day card. I have one stamp in my whole studio that involves this holiday and he is pretty cute, right? I want to enter this card into the latest CASology challenge #20. The theme this week is GOBBLE! Thanks for stopping by, Brandi

Thanksgiving Eve

***Don't forget about my holiday blog candy giveaway that can be found  here ! You have until Thursday of this week to enter*** Hey friends! Happy Thanksgiving Eve for those of you celebrating in the States! I am in full prep mode for Thanksgiving. I wanted to participate in the food spread this year so my husband and I offered to make pumpkin pie. Easy Peasy right? Most people have some common knowledge when it comes to making pies. Me, not so much. I went to the grocery store with recipe in hand, only to get stumped on pie crust types. Lord have mercy, I couldn't figure it out. Who would have thought that there would be so many pie crust types (graham cracker, chocolate, baked, pre-baked). Well I searched down the aisles for a woman that looked nice enough to spend time explaining the pie crust rules. After a good laugh by her, she guided me to the freezer aisle where the proper pie crust was, mission accomplished! Now I just have to bake it. Wish me luck. On a si

Hey friends, I wanted to pop in to share something fun with you today. How about some blog candy?!?!?! I was fortunate enough to come into two sets of Elves at Work by Neat and Tangled Stamps. Little Elf

Image
Hey friends, As I sat down to write this post I thought to myself, "Is a female elf, called an elf? Could it have a different name, like steward and stewardess"? Well fear not, Wiki had the answer. An elf is an elf regardless of gender just like a human is a human". And there you go friends, since I know this has been on your mind this holiday season, LOL! I created this card for the latest Retro Sketches Challenge #37. I used my new Neat and Tangled "Elves at Work" set. Have a great day, Brandi

Cas(E) Sketch #5

Image
Hey friends, I wanted to pop in to share a card I created for CAS(E) this Sketch  #5 . I focused on the three semicircles in the sketch for my bird placement. What's the weather like where you are? It is 50 and rainy here. What a great day to curl up on the couch with a good book. Right now I'm reading The Owl and Moon Cafe. You can find it here , if interested. Thanks for stopping by, Brandi

Hey friends, Where did the weekend go? My husband has the day off today for Veteran's Day and I want nothing more than to take the day off too. It is so hard when the alarm goes off early in the morning and while waking up I look over and see how snuggled up, sound asleep the hubby is. Only knowing that he has the day to do whatever he wants. LOL! I wanted to pop in to share one last card I made for the Cloud 9 November Blog Hop. I just love this site. It gives me incentive to use my Wplus9 sets. You should check out the gallery, as all of the cards are awesome! Have a great day, Brandi

I inked up some of my favorite images from the Wplus9 Iconic Christmas set. I just loooooove silhouettes! Have a great Sunday. The hubby and I are heading out to bag the rest of the leaves for fall. We have been raking and bagging for two weekends now. Hopefully this is the last batch! :) Brandi

Hey friends, I wanted to pop in to share a card I made for the latest CASology Challenge #18. The theme this week is orange. I dusted off one of my little stamps I found from Michael's dollar bin and inked it up. :) What do you have going on this weekend? The hubby, his family and I are going to see the new James Bond movie. I can't wait. I just love Daniel Craig as the new Bond. Plus it gives me a reason to indulge myself in a root beer and popcorn! LOL! Brandi

CAS(E) this Sketch #4

Image
Hey friends, I wanted to send a big thank you out to those of you that left well wishes on my previous post. I just love the friends that I have made through this hobby. I always have a smile on my face when I see a new comment and for that, thank you! I've been wanting to participate in this new challenge site called CAS(E) this Sketch. I just love the idea of a clean and simple sketch for inspiration. They are now on their 4th one. I pulled out some oldy but goody stamps from Practicing Creativity called Retro Christmas. I just love these images and seem to get into the Christmas spirit when I ink them up. :) Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to the week! Brandi

Sweet Holiday Wishes

Hey friends, Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. With Halloween, Hurricane Sandy and just life getting in the way, we have been pretty busy. We were very fortunate where I live to have dodge the bad weather. We live about 2 hours north of NYC. We were expected to get hit harder than we did but by the grace of God we were spared. My heart goes out to any of you that have been affected. It has been heartbreaking seeing the images from the storm. I did want to share a card I made for the latest CASology Challenge #17. The theme this week is Sugar and is sponsored by one of my favorite new stamping companies, "Neat and Tangled". I bought a few of their stamps last month and happened to have one that fit perfectly with the challenge. Thank you so much for stopping by. Brandi
