A Little Birdie Told Me....

Image
Hey y'all! Whoo-Hoo tomorrow is Friday. Thank goodness because I am ready for some relaxation time. We are supposed to have nice weather here, so hopefully I will be able to enjoy some warm sun! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? The hubby and I are going to a barbecue at our friends and hopefully I will be able to get out to the range to hit some golf balls. Today's card was designed with the Play Date Cafe Challenge  #27 in mind. I just love the colors for this week (blue, green and white). Thanks for stopping by! Brandi

So Sweet Of You...

Image
Hey y'all, Is anyone as excited as I am? I mean the Hills premieres tonight! It is sure to be filled with drama, plastic surgery mishaps, drama, Speidi and more drama!!!! I loooooove that show. Alright I need to get a life, but seeing some of the things these girls go through, makes me enjoy my simple life that much more! Anyway above is a card I made that meets the criteria for two challenges. Whoo-hoo! Love when that happens. If I can find a challenge that provides me the colors (Curtain Call Color Challenge Act  27 ) and a challenge that provides me the sketch (2S4Y Sketch  51 ), I am all set! I have had the background paper for the longest time and was so happy that it met the color combo. I love walking the aisles of Michael's and filling my basket with designer paper, but most of the time it just sits on the shelf unused. I do that with a lot of my scrapbook supplies now that I think of it! So being able to use at least one sheet makes it all worth it! Thanks for

Lady Gaga Inspiration...

Image
Good Morning y'all! I have something fun to share with you guys today. I love Lady Gaga's music (poker face, telephone, etc.) but her fashion sense, now that is another story (if you know what I mean). She is, what one would say, eccentric. My new blogger friend Karen and I thought that it would be fun to use one of LG's unique outfits as some inspiration for a card. We searched the web and agreed on the following image. This is the outfit she wore at the 2010 Grammys. It was so easy to pull some fabulous ideas from this craaaaazy costume! I have attached our cards below. We had such as blast mixing pop culture and crafting. Here is my card. Below is Karen's. Don't forget to stop by her blog for more inspiration. She is a wonderful designer and with every card she posts, she usually has great stories! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Brandi

April Showers Bring May Flowers...

Image
Hey y'all! I am holed up in my craft room making cards and watching reruns of Real Housewives of New York City. I loooooove that show. As a matter of fact I loooooove any Real Housewives episode, whether it is New York, Orange County, New Jersey or Atlanta! Speaking of, did any of you guys catch the last episode of RHONYC last week and see the way Bethany found out she was pregnant? If you did, do you agree that it was TMI (Too Much Information)? Ha Ha! Alright that was random but anyway on a lighter note, I love  Kristina's blog! Every once in a while she will grace us with an inspirational challenge. The challenge this week involved creating a one layer card. I loved this challenge. I just pulled out my brightest markers and cute rub-ons and voila! Thanks for stopping by for a peek! Brandi

Cute as a Button...

Hey y'all! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. The hubby normally works on Saturdays but happened to have this past one off, so we made the most of our two day weekend together. We went to a couple of movies. One being Death at a Funeral which was HILARIOUS! I haven't really laughed that hard in a long time. Sunday we enjoyed a southern style breakfast at the Cracker Barrel (grits and gravy biscuits included)! I love that place with the southern food and decor. It reminds me of growing up in Arkansas. We would always stop at a CB on the way to whatever vacation spot we were headed.  I actually had no idea they existed up North, much less close by our house. One thing I havn't been able to find up here is a SONIC! Oh what I would give for a Sonic corndog and tater tots with cheese! YUM! Alright enough food talk, I wanted to share a card that I made for the latest  EBTKS  sketch challenge #13. I am on a baby card kick.  By the way thank you guys so much for the nice comm

Pretty in Pink...

Good afternoon y'all! I wanted to pop in to share with you this baby girl card I made this week. I don't know if you are in the same situation but it seems everyone around me is having a baby! Three of my closest friends have either just had or are going to have a baby by June! Mamma Mia! There must be something in the water! That is why, right now, I am sticking to Coca-Cola!!! Just joking! I drink Pepsi too! With this card I used a new technique I learned from Dawn Mcvey. See   HERE ! I love visiting her website for inspiration. She did a card a while back where she created her own diagonal lined background paper using a marker and ruler. I used the same technique and loved it. It is great when you need certain colors in the background but don't have any matching designer paper on hand. Thanks for popping by! Now go out and enjoy this beautiful spring weather!!! Brandi

Purple People Eater.....

Image
Ha Ha! Funny title right? I didn't know what else to go with and all I could think of when I saw this card was "One eyed, one horned, flying purple people eaters"! What a weird song huh? Wonder what those people were smoking when they came up with those lyrics. Only joking! Anywho it has been a long day at our house. I worked a full day at the office then had to come home to a Wii Mario Brothers competition with the hubby! I tell you it is the one video game I actually enjoy playing because I use to have it on the original Nintendo as a kid. The hubby, however, is a huge kid at heart. He loves to play video games when he gets a chance. I don't mind because it gives me time to do other things like make cards or read. At the moment I am reading "The Help". Have any of you read it yet? I had to take a break from the "Twilight" series. I read the first three books but when you start talking to you friend about which team you are on (Edward or Jacob), i

Baby Shower Favors...

Image
Hey y'all, I am so excited to show you these baby shower favors I made for one of my great friends. Her sister is throwing a baby shower for her this coming weekend and I volunteered with the favors. I was originally going to buy some but after looking around at what was out there, I just wasn't impressed. If you know me, I like to lend my creative hand whenever I can. My friend was going with a little lamb theme. Since she doesn't want to know what she is having I had to go with unisex colors (orange, white, purple and green). I found these cute little boxes at AC Moore and just knew the direction in which to go. I had this little lamb stamp in my stash and thought "Perfect" fit! I filled the boxes with shredded kraft paper and Hershey kisses and topped the box off with a pastel ribbon "Voila"! I hope she likes them. Thanks for stopping by! Brandi

Hey There Cupcake...

Image
Hey y'all, Three days down and two to go until the weekend! Whoo hoo! Can't wait to soak up the beautiful sun we have been having in upstate NY. I actually brought out the short sleeve work wear today. Enough of the bulky sweaters and wool pants. It is open toe season and I am bringing those babies out and dusting them off. All I need is a pedicure. I bought some cute cupcake felt stickers by Martha Stewart that I have been wanting to use on a card. Do you guys love the Martha Stewart scrapbook line? I actually went on her site this weekend and did not realize how many cute punches she has. Michael's sells her line. Awesome, because one is 10 minutes away. This card was created with the latest EBTKS challenge in mind. The goal was to use some kind of thread. Since I do not have a sewing machine, I had to stitch by hand. What do you think? Thanks for popping by, Brandi

Rainbow Eggs...

Image
Hey y'all, I hope you had a great Easter with your loved ones. The hubby and I went to Connecticut to hang out with my brother-in-law and his family. We had such a great time seeing our nieces. They were absolutely adorable in their Easter dresses! I wish I had some photos to show you but I forgot my camera. Saturday night I dyed eggs with the oldest (Mackenzie 5). We used the Disney Princess kit of course! I needed a thank you card to send them, for having us over for the weekend and being such great host. I made a card for the latest Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger challenge and thought that it would be perfect for them. Thanks for stopping by! Brandi
